Friday Night Madness Results
The Final Four
PDC / Bull’s-Eye News Official Event Report
May 19, 2006

THE final four players to win places in the World Series of Darts at the Friday Night Madness event in the Mohegan Sun Casino were Jeffrey Russell, Bill Davis, Tim O'Gorman and Brad Wethington.

Photo: One Million Reasons To Win!The quartet came through from a field of 256 players, who battled it out in the two-stage last-chance qualifier.

Players spent three hours challenging to complete a leg of 501 in the fewest possible darts, before the top 16 and ties played off for the final four places in the World Series of Darts.

In a dramatic final half hour, Paul Seladones, Jim Newman and Donald Scism landed 14-dart legs to join eight other players on that tally, with Buddy Lessig then hitting a 13-darter.

A dramatic final few minutes saw John Adams become the 21st player to book a place in the play-offs with the night's last 14-darter.

Darin Young produced the best leg of the night with an 11-darter early in the evening, but he suffered heartbreak later on with a 4-3 loss to Bill Davis - who came from 3-0 down.

Davis went on to claim a place in the main tournament, which begins on Saturday, where he will face Denis Ovens in the first round.

Jeffrey Russell booked a clash with Mark Walsh, Brad Wethington earned a date with Ronnie Baxter while Tim O'Gorman will take on 13-time World Champion Phil Taylor.

The quartet join 12 other Americans in playing for a $1 million first prize in the tournament, which sees them take on the top 16 in the Professional Darts Corporation.
