World Series of Darts: FAQ

WSOD Prize Purse
Q: So, what’s the deal with the World Series prize purse? I’ve heard $300,000 and one-million, which is the correct amount?

In truth, both the $300,000 and $1,000,000 figures are correct. It just depends on who wins!

The official prize purse for the event is $300,000, with a whopping first-place prize of $100,000 going to the winner. If however, the winner is an American, the PDC is paying a bonus of $900,000.

So, if a PDC pro wins the event (Someone like... Now let me think. Um... Phil Taylor maybe?) they’ll take home the $100K. If an American wins the event though, with the mega-bonus added, it’ll be an icy-cool ONE-MILLION bucks!
