“We have been committed to developing professional darts in North America and this continues
that trend,” said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn. “There are now more opportunities than ever for North American players to compete at a professional level and we
believe that is resulting in standards continuing to rise. John Part is a great example for the ambitious players of North America to follow; a great champion
with a superb attitude, and he fully deserved his Ladbrokes.com PDC World Darts Championship success. I’m sure it won't be too much longer before we see
another American or Canadian joining him on the World Champion’s roll of honor.”
