The 2007 Wild Card Race for the Las Vegas Desert Classic VI is quickly reaching its climax with only one more tournament, the Charlotte Open, remaining to determine the final three players earning a Wild Card.
The table below shows the standings after the conclusion of the Virginia Beach
Classic and the 25 other previous tournaments. Darin Young has locked in one of the Wild Cards with a commanding lead of 118. Depending on the number of entries, John Kuczunski is the only one who could catch Young. Kuczynski is in the second position with 104 points and is likely to earn the second Wild Card. Gary Mawson is in third place with 98 BEN Pro Ranking points. Ray Carver is the only person close enough to catch Mawson and possibly Kuzcynski if there are enough entries. Carver has 89 points on the chart.
The final two Wild Cards will come down to the Charlotte Open and the performances of Kuczynski, Mawson and Carver. If Mawson fails to earn any BEN Pro Ranking points and Carver wins or places second, the current order of the standings could change and Carver would earn the third Wild Card. The
final tournament should be an exciting concluding event to the 2007 PDC Las Vegas Desert Classic Wild Card Race.
