As dozens of US players clamor to lock-up the remaining and highly coveted spots for this
year’s brand new PDC US Open event, they (along with family, friends and die-hard dart fans alike) are also now scrambling to finalize their travel plans and to reserve accommodations near the Mohegan Sun Resort.
As many players and fans discovered last year at the historic World Series of Darts
event, which was held this same weekend last year, nailing down hotel rooms in the greater Uncasville, Connecticut area can get tricky —and in
a hurry. (Apparently, the siren’s call of the gorgeous Mohegan Sun casino keeps the area hotels and motels bustling year round with eager suckers, er, um...
gambling patrons, even without the draw of special events like the US Open.)
