Steel darts are at last in Germany. Since the steel dart championships were shown on TV in January
or 2005, this year more and more dart players are trying and liking the new feel of throwing steel darts. The German steel dart organization has never seen so many
enthusiastic players and even the people who play at home are changing from soft to steel darts.
On the weekend of July 15-17, 2005, Aschaffenburg, in association with The Co. Zielscheibe, will host
the Main Steel Dart 2005 tournament. First place will pay 3,000 Euros, second place 1,500 Euros, third 750 Euros, and further breakdown for fourth and beyond.
The format will be a Double-Knockout-System competition.
With 2,000 or more players, there will be 8 groups of 256 who will play against each other in doubles elimination rounds. The winners of the 8 groups will advance to the quarter finals. The elimination rounds will be played 501, double out best of 2 sets. The quarter finals and semi finals will be played best of 3 sets and the final best of 5 sets.
Stage eight and higher will be played on stage. The quarter finals will be called by Gordon
Shumway, who was one of the best dart players in the 90’s.
The Co. Zielscheibe (which means target) has been in business for 25 years and have been supporting
sporting activities for more than 25 years for customers all over the world. The Co. Zielscheibe has been involved in almost all target sports and now look forward
to making this dart tournament one of the most memorable for all those who take part.
