PDC Standings For The 3 US LVDC IV Wild Cards
MGM Grand Hotel and Casino • Las Vegas, NV • June 27-July 3, 2005

The Road To Vegas!
The 2005 Las Vegas Desert Classic IV is set for June 27 through July 3 at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino and the entry form is elsewhere in this issue. The PDC Wild Card race has heated up as the results in the table below show.

The last issue incorrectly listed the Long Island Classic as one of the 20 events included in the Wild Card race when it should have read the NY/NJ Open.  The table had the correct tournaments listed. We apologize for the error.

Similar to last year, 3 American Wild Cards will be determined using the BEN Pro Ranking System for the Men’s Singles 501 at 20 tournaments held in the US between January 1 and April 25, 2004. The top three American men point earners, who do not already have invites, will receive invitations to play in the Las Vegas Desert Classic III as one of the 32 finalists.

The list of tournaments to be included in the 2005 US Wild Card Race for the PDC Las Vegas Desert Classic IV are shown below:

Atlanta Peachtree Open   Aug 6-8   $15,000  GA
USA Dart Classic III     Aug 13-15 $25,000  CT
Windy City Open          Sep 16-19 $21,000  IL
28th Louisiana Classic   Oct 8-10  $12,000  LA
Allstate Darts Open      Oct 15-16 $10,000  MI
New Mexico Open XXVI     Nov 5-7   $10,000  NM
Choo Choo Classic        Dec 3-5   $12,500  TN
Pennsylvania Open        Jan 7-9   $27,110  PA
NY/NJ Open               Jan 14-16 $10,000  NJ
Bluebonnet Open          Jan       $15,000  TX
Shoot for the Moon       Jan 28-30 $15,000  AL
The Las Vegas Open       Jan 28-30 $20,000  NV
Camellia Classic         Feb 18-20 $10,320  CA
Easy Money Open          Feb       $10,000  KY
Syracuse Open            Feb       $15,000  NY
North Texas Shootout     Mar       $15,000  TX
St. Pat’s Open           Mar       $13,000  IN
Early Bird XXII          Mar       $14,000  LA
Virginia Beach Classic   Mar       $21,010  VA
Charlotte Open           Apr       $15,000  NC

The table shown below documents the number of points earned for finishes in the Men’s Singles 501 at tournaments which have been completed and are included on the list of the 20 selected tournaments used to determine the 3 American Wild Cards for the Las Vegas Desert Classic IV.  The top American men earning the most BEN Pro Ranking Points as allocated and accumulated from all 20 of the selected tournaments listed above will be awarded a place in the final 32 players to compete on stage in Las Vegas.  Ties will be broken by the most recent record of points earned by those players who are tied.  The American men earning Wild Cards must be citizens of the US or residents of the US holding valid green cards.

BEN Pro Points
These guidelines were established for BEN Pro Ranking. Points are awarded to the top 32 in each singles event or to the last money round position, whichever comes first.

As a result of the Blueberry Hill dropping the purse size to $2,500 this year, the Blueberry Hill tournament will no longer be included in the Wild Card race.  That tournament will be replaced by the Charlotte Open which is a $15,000 tournament #and will take place April 15-17, 2005.

There may be future changes to the qualifying tournaments due to cancellations or prize money changes.  Changes will be immediately posted here on our web site, and will appear in the next issue of the magazine. Any questions or concerns should be directed to ben@bullseyenews.com or by calling 1.800.688.3278.  Complete registration information for the 2005 Las Vegas Desert Classic IV is included in this issue and here on-line .

One additional Wild Card will go to a Canadian male player. The NDFC has determined how this Wild Card, plus additional positions for both men and women, can be earned.  Check the NDFC column for more details.
