Darin Young topped the men’s field with 35 points earned at three of the four Halex® tournaments. Carolyn Mars took the women’s title earning 32 points, also at three of the four Halex® tournaments. If for
any reason Young and Mars are unable to attend this year’s tournament, the trips will be awarded to the first runners up, Shawn
Brenneman for the men and Marilyn Popp for the women.
A t each of the four tournaments, players were introduced to the new Halex®
BristleTech BTX-22 electronic dartboards that accept both steel and soft-tipped darts. The interest and enthusiasm for the Halex® Cybermatch Challenge
at the Choo Choo Classic was reported in the Jan/Feb BEN Volume XXIV Issue 1.
That interest continued at the Pennsylvania Open, New York/New Jersey Open and at
the Easy Money Open. The unique feature of these electronic dartboards is that players can use either soft or steel darts of any weight. For a
$1.00 contribution, players received a chance to win one of several prizes offered and they had the
chance to try the board. A $3.00 contribution for an attempt to beat the CyberPro in cricket offered them a chance to win one of the 3 styles of Halex® BristleTech electronic dartboards present at the booth. At total of $1
,862 was raised at the 4 tournaments for the various charities each tournament contributed to.
