Dear BEN,
I would be very grateful if you would print this article in your next edition.
I would like to thank all those people from Canada and the U.S.A., who very kindly sent
their best wishes and condolences on the death of Barry Twomlow, my husband.
I have ha so many cards and e-mails from people, whom I have never met, but have heard their names in the stories that Barry told me. I thank you all.
Barry was one of those extraordinary people, who didn’t just meet people - he made
friends and kept them throughout his life. He just loved people, and what is more, they loved him.
My grateful thanks to all those people who looked after Barry on all his trips
and made him so welcome.
I found this poem written in his own handwriting, which obviously made a great
impression on him:
Count your garden by the flowers, Never the leaves that fall.
Count your days by golden hours, Don’t remember clouds at all. Count your nights by stars No shadows. Count your life by smiles, not tears.
And with joy in your heart Count your age by friends, not years.
He was indeed a very rich man.
Thank you all so much. —Margaret Twomlow
