Fellow Shooters:
One of the benefits of a web presence is that we get to learn from American Dart Shooters in
other geographic areas about “Our Game” (sometimes areas where we had no idea the game even existed) and now we get to learn about a “Similar Game” that most
of us are probably not familiar with at all. Don’t feel left out now! Most dart players in the USA don’t know that “Our Game” even exists at all.
In upstate NY there still thrives an “American Dart Game” similar to ours but using slightly
different equipment. The board is still made of endgrain basswood (like we are familiar with) but it has no triple scoring ring (just singles &
doubles). They also use the #2 darts (big ones) instead of the smaller #1 darts like we use. The cork is at the same height (63") and the toe
line is also the same as ours (7' 3").
The American Legion Mohawk Post #1450 sent a team down to our A.B.D.A. National Championship
Tournament last month to try out “Our Game” and VIP Darts went upstate NY last week to try our hand at “Their Game” and to introduce the all new Troy Board (the last remaining manufacturer of those boards in NY ceased operations a few years ago).
We had a blast! We all had a great time and I am sure we will be returning next year
with some new players also. We are starting an in-house league using the Troy Board and the #2 Darts in West Hazleton, PA at the VFW (probably on a Friday night). It will be a come as you can kind of deal so we can generate more averages for next year's tournament at the American Legion Mohawk Post #1450 in Halfmoon, NY. We were told that the Legion Board has already approved $1,000 payout for first place next year (4th Annual). Pictures tell the story better than me so here is the link:

Thanks to all the guys who went to NY with me and played so remarkably well!
Keep Shooting!
