ADO NEWS
The ADO Board Meeting Report
The ADO Board of Directors met February 9-11, 2007 in Long Island, NY; August 9th, 2007 in Stamford, Connecticut and April 25-27, 2008 in Long Island, NY. The following is a short summary of the actions taken by the Board at these full board meetings:
1) 2009 World Cup will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina
2) Leagues membership fees for two levels were raised.
• Leagues of 1-50 increased to $100 from $85.
• Leagues of 51-100 increased to $175 from $165.
3) The 1st Place Annual Regional Awards will be a black shirt with a silver ADO logo and 2nd Place will receive ADO coins. These will be the only awards for Regional winners.
4) A Youth information section on the ADO website and new flyers will replace the Youth Manual.
TOURNAMENT RULES/SANCTIONING CHANGES/POINTS:
5) The Tournament Sanctioning Requirements & Procedures have been amended to read: "The host organization of an ADO sanctioned tournament is required to publish on the flyer and circulate the following information as a part of the tournament sanctioning process:
• A complete breakdown of prize money or percentage payout and entry fees, date, and starting times for each event in the competition.
• A statement indicating any requirements/ restrictions for events including seeding by points, local standings or geography.
6) Retroactive to 01/01/08 a new level of points was added as follows: Tournament Purse of $30,000 or more = Base point values x6 awarded to the Top 32
7) The ADO Tournament Rules have been amended to read: STARTING AND FINISHING (ALL EVENTS) pg. 3 (taken from WDF rules of Play)
The Tournament Director will have the option of a draw, toss of a coin, or for a throw for the bull to determine the order of play in each match. If a throw for the bull is used, rules 23, 24 and 25 apply. If a draw or toss of a coin is used, the following shall apply:
The winner of the draw or toss shall throw first in the match. If the match is divided into legs, the winner of the draw or toss, shall throw first in the odd-numbered legs, and the loser shall throw first in the even-numbered legs.
If the match is divided into sets, then the winner of the draw or toss shall throw first in the odd-numbered legs of the odd-numbered sets, and first in the even-numbered legs in the even-numbered sets, with the loser of the draw or toss throwing first in the other legs.
In the instance of a match that is divided into legs, being equal before the start of the deciding leg, then the throwing order of the deciding leg shall be decided by throwing for the bull. The procedure at this point, shall be as set down in rules 23-25.

In those tournaments where a Tie-Breaker Rule is applicable, then the proceeding two paragraphs shall not supercede that rule.
PLAYOFF PROGRAM CHANGES/ADDITIONS:
8) If a player cannot complete the Playoff Program from start to finish, they will be ineligible to advance past the Regional level. They will only receive ADO points for the Regional.
9) ADO National Finals will be smoke and tobacco products free.
10) At Nationals Finals, all players who have not shown to play after the initial call, will receive a first and second call only. Then the player will start forfeiting the match, one leg for each five minutes after the second call. This does not include special circumstances known and approved by the event director.
11) ADO will accept players sponsored by Associate Members to compete in National Finals events for a $1,000 fee. There will not be a travel or expense reimbursement. The player will receive ADO points equivalent to the National Team points award.
12) ADO will invite the previous year’s winner of each National Finals to play in the next corresponding Finals should they not qualify at that event.
13) The Tie-Breaker Rule on the Playoff Rules & Regulations has been amended to read: "All tie-breakers in Regional and National competitions will be decided by a one-leg round-robin effective 06/01/08."
14) The expenses for a National advancer have been capped at $880 including expense monies.
Locations were set for the following National Finals in the Playoff Program:
• Cricket Nationals at the Triple Crown Productions ‘Las Vegas Open’ 2008 though 2010.
• 2008 Masters National Finals at the Harris County Darting Association’s Houston Open.
• ADO Allstars, National 501 Championship and National Youth Finals at the LB Dart Enterprises USA Classic in Stamford, CT 2008 through 2010.
• 2008 US Team National Finals at the Capital Area Dart Association’s Halloween Open in Austin, TX.
• Applications for hosting the 2009-2010 Masters and US Team will be reviewed at the August 2008 meeting in Stamford, CT.
